JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines has received a new А319 aircraft by Airbus. Currently, the company’s air fleet has 56 airplanes of the А319/320/321 family. This aircraft was named after Dmitry Mendeleev, a Russian scientist the Encyclopaedist, the ingenious chemist and the physicist, the author of the periodic law and the table of chemical elements.

The Executive Board of Aeroflot JSC has considered the revitalization plans and roadmaps for the subsidiaries Aeroflot Don and Aeroflot Nord. The draft plans provide for the both companies to reach positive results by the end of 2009.

JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines has received a new А319 aircraft by Airbus. By the end of the year, the company plans to receive one more aircraft of this model. Currently, the company’s air fleet has 54 airplanes of the А319/320/321 family. This aircraft was named after Aram Khachaturyan, a composer, conductor, teacher, prominent figure in the musical society, People’s Artiste of the USSR, Hero of Socialistic Labour, and author of Armenia’s National Anthem.

JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines and MIAT - Mongolian Airlines have signed a code sharing agreement for the Moscow - Ulan Bator - Moscow line. The agreement was signed by Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Savelyev and MIAT president Bat-Erdene within the frames of the Russian Vice President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Mongolia.

Aeroflot has summarized its performance in for March and Q1 2009.In Mar-09, the company carried 604,600 passengers (including 1,900 by charter), and performed 1,792 million passenger kilometers. The prompt reduction of flight frequency on a number of routes was done with respect to the lower demand for air services and to allow lower costs. In this connection, the work load in March decreased by 16.5% (119,100 passengers) compared to the level of 2008.

At the moment, Aeroflot’s fleet includes 50 aircrafts from the A319/320/321 family. The plane was called after Y Gagarin, a USSR space pilot and the first earthman to make a flight into space.

Aeroflot commenced Moscow-Eilat service on 15-Jan-09. The flights are made to Ovda Airport. Flight SU 501 departs from Moscow (Sheremetievo-1) on Thursdays and Sundays at 10.35, arrives in Eilat (Ovda) at 14.00. Flight SU 502 departs from Eilat (Ovda) on Thursdays and Sundays at 15.00, arrives in Moscow (Sheremetievo-1) at 20.25 (local time).

The Gazprom-led group of oil companies will sign long-term contracts with Russian airlines incorporating a fixed pricing formula for the entire contract period.
