HUNGARY : In view of the fact that the commercial strategy of Malév Hungarian Airlines is focused on other European routes, the company has decided to close its flights to Yekaterinburg.

UNITED KINGDOM : Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBIA) confirmed (19-Feb-09) that bmi mainline is to cease operating the London Heathrow service from 28-March-2009. bmi carried 62,000 departing passengers on their 4 times daily service in 2008 and had in recent months reduced capacity on the route in response to current market conditions.

IRELAND : Ryanair confirmed (10-Dec-08) that it will close all of its routes to and from Fuerteventura from 31-Jan-08 after local tourism group AIE failed to honor the commercial agreement it entered into with Ryanair to promote Fuerteventura as a tourist destination.

IRELAND : Ryanair slammed (24-Nov-08) the proposals by Blackpool Airport to introduce an Airport Development Fee with effect from the 05-Jan-09. This fee will be levied on all passengers without exception after that date and will substantially increase the cost of travel through this small regional airport which is totally dependent on low fares for its passenger traffic.
