TURKEY :
The Boeing Company and Turkish Airlines have signed an order for five Boeing 777-300ER (Extended Range) airplanes valued at USD1.36 billion at current list prices. This is the first time Turkish Airlines has purchased new 777s directly from Boeing.

Boeing and longtime partner Air France celebrated (13-Apr-09) significant milestones with the delivery of the 777th Boeing 777 airplane. The new Boeing 777-300ER also will be the first to bear a new Air France livery and company brand identity.

Boeing has appointed (30-Mar-09) Marcello Bruni as director of corporate communications for Italy and Southern Europe. Bruni, 40, succeeds Antonio De Palmas, who had been appointed president of European Union and NATO Relations. Bruni will be responsible for developing the company's communications strategies and engaging with key stakeholders in Italy, Greece and the Balkans.

Air Berlin is the first airline in Europe that will be carrying out CAT III-B approaches with its Boeing 737NG aircraft. This means that from now on landings will be possible when visibility in fog is down to just 75m.

Ukraine International Airlines increase their fleet of Boeing airliners to seventeen with the delivery of another 737-400 as part of their fleet renovation and expansion plans. The hand over took place at Borispol international airport on 03-Nov-08 after the aircraft had completed both the manufacturer’s safety checks and Ukrainian registration.

Boeing announced an adjusted schedule for production and delivery of the 747-8 Freighter and Intercontinental airplanes. The revised schedule is based on a production and flight-test plan developed in conjunction with the company's suppliers that provides additional time for addressing issues that have slowed the program's progress.

According to the “2009-2023 Fleet Planning”, which was approved by the Board of Directors previously, the decision made to purchase 25 wide-body long haul aircraft with double aisle and 50 narrow-body medium haul aircraft with single aisle.

S7 Airlines received long haul Boeing 767-300ER, which have arrived at the “Tolmachevo” airport to undergo customs procedures. The aircraft has been received from AWAS. Starting middle Oct-08 the aircraft will begin regular flights on the routes Moscow - Novosibirsk and Moscow - Erevan.

Ryanair announced that due to strike action at Boeing it has had to postpone the operation of 11 new routes from Dusseldorf (Weeze).

Ryanair announced that due to strike action at Boeing it has had to cancel 25 return flights to/from Birmingham. As a direct result of this strike, which has delayed the delivery of new aircraft, Ryanair cannot now operate flights on 21 routes to/from Birmingham between 24-Oct and 28-Oct.

Boeing will provide a Performance Improvement Package for British Airways' 777 fleet that will result in a 1% fuel efficiency gain, along with the emission reductions that come with reduced fuel usage.

Since the beginning of 2008, seven airlines adopted The Boeing Company's new Performance Improvement Package (PIP) for their 777 fleets. The Performance Improvement Package, scheduled for an Apr-09 introduction into service, is committed on 10 Boeing 777 fleets totaling 170 airplanes.

Ryanair announced the postponement of the opening of its Reus base by five weeks. The deferral of the opening from its original date of the 01-Oct-08 to a new date of 05-Nov-08 is as a result of the strike by Boeing employees in Seattle which has resulted in the indefinite delay of the shipment of new aircraft to Ryanair.
