CANADA :
Air Canada and fellow Star Alliance partner TAP Portugal announced (15-Apr-09) they have entered a codeshare agreement that will create more travel options and better connections for customers travelling between Canada and Portugal.

MALTA :
Air Malta and Swiss International Air Lines have signed an agreement by which SWISS will codeshare on Air Malta’s flights between Malta and Zurich. This agreement also sees Air Malta stepping up its operation to this important hub airport from five weekly frequencies to a daily flight starting from 29-Mar-09.

Estonian Air will start code sharing with SAS on the following flights operated by Estonian Air Regional, the subsidiary of Estonian Air from 29-Mar-09: flights OV663/664, 667/668, 683/684, 685/686, 687/688 between Tallinn and Stockholm. From 09-Apr-09: flights OV661/662 between Kuressaare and Stockholm and from 30-Apr-09 flights OV671/672 between Prnu and Stockholm.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES :
Etihad Airways is to extend further its expanding global network by providing its customers with access for the first time to destinations in Spain, following the expansion of its existing codeshare agreement with Brussels Airlines of Belgium.

Spanair and Air Europa signed (16-Mar-09) a commercial cooperation agreement. It includes a codeshare product which will expand the customer offering with more connecting flights, passenger convenience and enhanced benefits for frequent flyers in both companies

GERMANY :
Starting on 29-Mar Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa will offer code share flights between Belgium and Germany. Customers will be able to combine flights of both airlines, which gives them a lot more departure and connection possibilities.

UNITED KINGDOM :
Blue1 expanded codeshare cooperation with British airline BMI from the beginning of February. All Blue1’s daily flights from Helsinki to Heathrow will carry also a BMI flight number. Correspondingly all BMI:s flights from Heathrow to Manchester, Lees/Bradford, Belfast, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dublin with connection to Blue1:s flights will carry a Blue1 flight number.

Singapore Airlines and Turkish Airlines signed (02-Feb-09) a new codeshare agreement. From 15-Feb-09, Singapore Airlines’ customers travelling between Singapore and Istanbul will have a choice of ten flights a week.

CHINA :
Air Berlin is extending its long-range services and will again be offering flights to China in time for the Chinese New Year. This has been made possible by their co-operation with Hainan Airlines. Both companies have agreed that from 25-Jan-09 they will jointly market flights between Berlin and Beijing.

Etihad Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with Aer Arann whereby Etihad Airways will place its two-letter ‘EY’ code on Aer Arann’s regional flights from Dublin to Cork and Galway in Ireland and also to the Isle of Man.
