Embraer has named Nayak Aircraft Services based in Cologne, Germany, as an Embraer Authorized Service Center (EASC). The company became the first Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility to serve Embraer’s Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 in that country.

Embraer now has another member of its E-Jets family, the EMBRAER 190, formally beginning its steep approach campaign to enable operations at London’s premier business airport, London City (LCY). This certification is expected to be earned by the end of 2009.

Air Dolomiti commenced (16-Feb-09) scheduled services in Munich with the first Embraer ERJ-195. A total of five of these jets are scheduled to join the fleet of Air Dolomiti in the course of the year.

Embraer delivered the first EMBRAER 195 jet to Air Dolomiti, the Lufthansa owned Northern Italy regional carrier, during a ceremony held at Embraer’s headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil. The deal with Lufthansa was announced in Jun-07, covering 30 firm orders for the EMBRAER 190 jet, with the option to take any aircraft of the E-Jets family.

Embraer and British Airways signed (22-Dec-08) a contract for 11 E-Jets, comprised of six EMBRAER 170 and five EMBRAER 190SR jets, to be operated by BA CityFlyer. BA CityFlyer is British Airways’ wholly owned regional subsidiary that operates international and domestic routes from London City Airport, England.

Embraer is pleased to welcome Arkia Israeli Airlines to its E-Jets customer family. The airline will operate one EMBRAER 195 jet from Tel Aviv to major Mediterranean and European destinations. There will be no changes to Embraer’s current backlog, due to this announcement, since the aircraft was previously delivered to Air Europa.

Embraer signed (02-Dec-08) a firm order with Globalia, owned by Juan José Hidalgo, President of JJH Capital and Air Europa, for an additional six EMBRAER 195 jets, to be operated by Air Europa, a subsidiary of Globalia. The deal is valued at USD 237 million, at list price, based on Jan-08 economic conditions, and converts the purchase rights originally announced in Feb-08.

Embraer will deliver the first EMBRAER 190 jet to KLM cityhopper, the regional airline subsidiary of KLM, during a ceremony to be held at Embraer’s headquarters in So Jos dos Campos, Brazil. The deal with the Dutch airline was announced in Aug-07 and includes ten firm orders, plus nine options, for the EMBRAER 190.

UNITED KINGDOM : Embraer and Flybe Aviation Services signed a five-year contract, naming the regional aircraft maintenance company as an authorised service center for the ERJ 145 and E-Jets families.

Embraer announced the sale of the first Embraer 195 jet to Montenegro Airlines. The agreement with the airline from the Republic of Montenegro also includes purchase rights for two more aircraft of the same model.
