CHINA :
Czech Airlines agreed to code-share cooperation with China Eastern Airlines on the route that the Chinese airline operates from Frankfurt am Main to Shanghai. The cooperation agreement will be signed by the end of this year. Code-share flights to China will appear in the Czech Airlines flight schedule from the 2010 summer season, which starts on 28 March 2010.

Czech Airlines is responding to the economic crisis. Last December, it introduced its 2009 Action Plan, which includes measures aimed at generating additional revenue and cutting costs, thereby reducing the impact of the crisis and reduced passenger interest in air travel.

Czech Airlines will commence scheduled flights between Prague and Novosibirsk in Central Russia and boost the number of its flights to other Russian cities. Novosibirsk, the third largest city in the Russian Federation, will be connected to Prague twice a week, thanks to this new Czech Airlines route.
Czech Airlines empezará a operar sus vuelos programados entre Praga y Novosibirsk en Rusia central; aumentando de esta manera su presencia en otras ciudades rusas. Novosibirsk, la tercera ciudad más grande de la Federación Rusa, y Praga serán conectadas con dos vuelos semanales.

Czech flag carrier Czech Airlines and ATR announced (23-Apr-09) the signature of a Global Maintenance Agreement (GMA), valued at over USD14 million. The contract, for a period of 7 years, covers the repair of the Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) of the 12 ATR aircraft of the airline.

Air France-KLM is very pleased with the announcement made by the Czech Minister of Finance, Miroslav Kalousek, according to which the Air France KLM Group has been chosen to take part in the second round of the privatization process of the Czech airline, CSA.

With newly concluded advantageous contracts, Czech Airlines will reduce its costs incurred in the repair of rotable aircraft units. The Airline re-tendered assignments for the repair of rotable aircraft units for its Boeing B737, Airbus A320, and turbo-propeller ATR aircraft.

The Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic issued a call for tenders on 05-Feb-09 for the purchase of its stake in Czech Airlines. As a result, Air France-KLM will be submitting 23-Mar-09 a non binding Expression of Interest in order to access the airline's data room.

Czech Airlines has signed (16-Mar-09) an agreement with Nayzak Air Transport for the lease of two Boeing 737-400 162-passenger aircraft, including crew, for a full year. The aircraft will operate from Tripolis Airport in Libya from this week. The Czech Airlines aircraft will be deployed on domestic flights and flights headed to Egypt. The more than one-year lease of the two aircraft will bring Czech Airlines revenue in the order of several hundred million crowns.

In summer, Czech Airlines will enhance its offering of seasonal flights to Toronto, Canada. Compared to last year, the number of flights in the main summer season will increase from three to four weekly. Also the period for which Czech Airlines will provide flights to Canada will be longer.

Czech Airlines expanded (15-Feb-09) the possibility for its passengers to make purchases on board its aircraft from its supplementary offer, primarily of beverages. Passengers in Economy Class will be able to choose beverages, including alcohol, and various kinds of snacks, and in addition to standard service, which continues to be free of charge.

Czech Airlines continue to carry baggage for its passengers free of charge up to a certain weight limit; but, the carrier has made charges for excess baggage. Now, destinations have been divided into three zones, where the price is CZK 300, 600, of 900 per excess kilogram. For most destinations, the prices are lower than they have been thus far.

Czech Airlines took another step towards the more efficient functioning of the Technical Section, which represents savings of at least ten million dollars up to 2015. The signing of an agreement with Snecma Services on cooperation in aircraft maintenance will thus bring Czech Airlines significant savings in input costs over the next few years.

This year, the Airline agreed to new conditions with its suppliers for nearly 700 contracts, realising savings of nearly CZK 400 million in input costs, primarily on navigation fees, aircraft handling, and information technologies.

At the end of October, Czech Airlines successfully passed the final stage of an environmental audit according to the ISO 14001 international norm. The certification audit took place in two rounds, from July to October.

Passengers who require transportation to or from the airport in Prague and surrounding communities can call a special Czech Airlines customer service line, where they can book a no-cost taxi ride to and from the airport.
