On 25-Sept-08, Air France signed a charter on biofuels with eight other airline majors including KLM, the aircraft manufacturer Boeing and Universal Oil Products (UOP), a specialist in the development of biofuel technology.

SAS, with other leading air carriers, Boeing and Honeywell's UOP, a refining technology developer, established a group to accelerate the development and commercialisation of sustainable new aviation fuels.
