CZECH REPUBLICH : Flights to Paris and Rome for the winter 2009 season have been added to the system. Flights will be operated by modern Boeing 737-800 aircrafts.

Czech Airlines will commence scheduled flights between Prague and Novosibirsk in Central Russia and boost the number of its flights to other Russian cities. Novosibirsk, the third largest city in the Russian Federation, will be connected to Prague twice a week, thanks to this new Czech Airlines route.

Czech Airlines empezará a operar sus vuelos programados entre Praga y Novosibirsk en Rusia central; aumentando de esta manera su presencia en otras ciudades rusas. Novosibirsk, la tercera ciudad más grande de la Federación Rusa, y Praga serán conectadas con dos vuelos semanales.

UNITED KINGDOM : easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, 21-Apr-09 announced that it is opening three new routes from Luton Airport, giving travelers an even greater choice of popular destinations from their local airport and brings the total number of routes from Luton to 34.

SWISS is to offer a twice-daily service between Zurich and Oslo from mid-June onwards. The flights will be operated using Airbus A319 equipment. With the two new frequencies and a further codeshare flight operated by Star Alliance partner SAS, SWISS customers will enjoy a wide range of services to and from Norway’s capital.

GERMANY : Air Berlin announced (11-Mar-09) it is expanding its route network. The three new destinations incorporated in the winter timetable 2008/09, Ponta Delgada in the Azores, Ciudad Real - La Mancha in Central Spain, and Cyprus, will be joined by six further additions: the Channel Island of Jersey, Krakow in Poland, the Norwegian capital Oslo, Rijeka and Split in Croatia, and Venice, the lagoon city.

FINLAND : On 04-Mar, Finnair will begin direct flights from Helsinki to Istanbul, Turkey. The first flight departs from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport on Wednesday morning at 9 am and returns back to Helsinki in the evening.

Vladivostok Air will open seven new air flights in its summer schedule. The new flight schedule of the airline will take effect on 29-Mar and will be valid till 24-Oct-09. The key point of the schedule is that the airline is building a summer route network from the airports of Khabarovsk, Moscow and Ekaterinburg in addition to the native Vladivostok airport and will make those airport home bases for its aircrafts. This will enable Vladivostok Air to form a highly effective route network.

UNITED KINGDOM : Bmi has announced (26-Feb-09) that as of 22-May-009 it is increasing its services between Amman and London Heathrow from 7 to 10 flights per week. The addition of further flights is in recognition of Bmi's dedication to the region and an indicator of how important Jordan is to the airline. The move marks significant further investment on the part of Bmi in both Jordan and the wider Middle East region.

On 01-Jun-09, the Latvian airline airBaltic will launch direct flights from Riga to the capital city of Tajikistan, Dushanbe. airBaltic is the only EU airline to fly to Dushanbe. During the summer season, this will be airBaltic’s 51st route from Riga and will continue the airline’s strategy to open new Eastern destinations in CIS countries. Overall, during the 2009 summer season, the airline will launch four new routes from Riga.

GERMANY : Lufthansa announced (02-Oct-08) it is increasing its flight services this Winter. Lufthansa’s expanded route network includes 194 destinations in 79 countries, compared with 188 destinations in Winter 2007. Capacity will be increased by 2.4% across Lufthansa's route network in the 2008 Winter schedule.

UNITED KINGDOM : Jet2.com announced (01-Oct-08) an expansion of destinations from Belfast International Airport with the addition of two new routes: Dubrovnik in Croatia, effective 02-May-09, and Newquay, effective 24-May-09. Jet2.com stated the new route expansion will create about 50 new aviation-related jobs.
